January 10, 'We Remember the Birds', a joint presentation with author Sue Cerulean, hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens , GA

On Sunday, January10th at 4pm, Taos singer/songwriter Becky Reardon and Florida writer/naturalist Susan  Cerulean will blend their art forms in “We Remember the Birds,” a lyrical homage to wild birds and the Earth,  with prayer for their continuance. All are welcome.

Susan Cerulean’s I Have Been Assigned the Single Bird: A Daughter’s Memoir (University of  Georgia Press, 2020) trains a naturalist’s eye and a daughter’s heart on the death of a beloved parent from  dementia. At the same time, she explores an activist’s lifelong search to be of service to the embattled natural  world, especially to declining wild birds. She was proud to participate with an Indivisible rally at the Florida  Capitol featured on the Rachel Maddow show this summer, and in 2016 traveled to South Dakota to protest the  Dakota Access pipeline at Standing Rock. More about Cerulean and her upcoming events are on her website:  https://comingtopass.com/.

Becky Reardon is a singer and composer whose songs and rounds are sung by community and  university choirs, and song circles throughout the US, Canada, and the British Isles. Sometimes jazzy and fun loving, sometimes trance-inducing and deeply spiritual, her music always conveys her passion for the natural

world and the cycles of life. Her latest album, “Here”, reminds us to speak not only for endangered rivers, but  for all beings whose flowing is threatened. www.beckyreardonmusic.com
